Light snow will spread over northern Illinois by daybreak and
continue through the early afternoon hours. Snow rates should be
light and less than a quarter inch per hour, though a narrow zone
of locally higher rates is expected somewhere in the vicinity of
I-88 or I-80. Total snow amounts should range from 1 to 3 inches
by this afternoon.

With temperatures below freezing and in some places patches of
ice due to freezing mist overnight, snow will readily accumulate
on untreated roadways. Ensure to allow extra time if traveling
today.
