Thursday morning, first responders from various local law enforcement agencies gathered for the First Responder Prayer Service. Bradley Police Chief Donald Barber, Kankakee County Sheriff Mike Downey and State's Attorney Jim Rowe were among the morning's speakers.

Sunday night, Zechariah Cartledge, 13, of Orlando, ran one mile carrying the blue-line flag that symbolizes first responders, specifically police, in honor of fallen Bradley Police Department officer, Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic.

Hundreds stood on and around that corner, as hundreds more lined the streets of Kankakee, Bradley and Bourbonnais during a procession for Bradley Police Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic, who was killed in the line of duty Wednesday.
