The Olivet Nazarene University volleyball team had a rough go of it during the first round of pool play at the NAIA National Tournament on Tuesday.

Olivet dropped a 25-21, 25-16, 25-23 decision to Viterbo (Wisc.) in its first matchup. Viterbo was ranked second in the final regular season poll.

Becky DeRuiter had 14 kills for the Tigers (24-17), while Renee Enz also had 28 assists.

Olivet returns to the court against Georgetown (Ky.) tonight and wraps up pool play on Thursday in a matchup with Dordt (Iowa).

The top two teams from each pool will advance out of pool play and into the next stage of the tournament.
