The Kankakee Community College baseball team will begin its postseason defense of its National Junior College Athletic Association World Series championship this weekend, when the NJCAA Region IV tournament begins Friday at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake.

The Cavaliers earned a No. 2 seed in the four-team tournament. They will take on No. 3 Madison College in the first round at 3 p.m. Friday.

If the Cavaliers win, they will play the winner of Friday’s other matchup, McHenry vs. Black Hawk College, at 12 p.m. Saturday. If they lose, they will play the loser of Friday’s other game at 9 a.m.

The winner of Saturday’s 12 p.m. game will advance to Sunday’s championship game. The loser of that game and winner of the 9 a.m. game will play at 3 p.m. Saturday to fill the other slot in Saturday’s championship game.
