Tuesday was a sad day. A self-professed lesbian was elected mayor of the great city of Chicago. I can always remember the birthday of my youngest daughter, because it was the day Mayor Richard J. Daley, Sr. died.

However, although he was not a conservative, if he was alive today, what happened yesterday would have never happened on his “watch.”

The newly elected mayor announced that anyone can marry anyone, as long as they love them. And her professed “wife” was at her side. However, the Bible, called the “Greatest Story Ever Told,” long ago by a Roman Catholic theologian, tells us, differently, that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for the sin of homosexuality, Genesis 19:1-28. See also I Cor 6:9,10, Rom. 1;24-27.

The new mayor also said, “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine,” not realizing that this is a song that Christians sing about Jesus Christ as the Light of the World, ending with the words, “I’m going to let it shine, ‘til Jesus comes,” proclaiming the Second Coming of Jesus.

All of the above is not to condemn anyone, but to seek and to save that which is lost, as Jesus our Savior came to do. We love the sinners, but hate their sin. Therefore we should address the LGBTQ agenda, lest we have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.
