Richard Lythberg's letter to the editor in the Daily Journal (April 6), regarding Chicago's recent mayoral election. He said "sad day. A self professed lesbian was elected mayor of the great city of Chicago."

Two strong women ran in a runoff election in that city. Mayor elect Lori Lightfoot won by a wide margin. Chicago voters determined that.

Mr. Lythberg also said of Chicago's Mayor Daley, Richard J, (died in 1976) "what happened yesterday would never have happened on his watch." I am not sure what he meant by that. He also made several Biblical references to support his opposition to homosexual relationships.

Seems like the best thing anyone might do is pray that Mayor elect Lori Lightfoot stays strong and has tremendous success as Chicago's new mayor.
