It seems to me that the majority of stories I see about Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong are less than complimentary. It's a nice change to see one with a little credit being given to her.

She took the risk and responded via the jungle of Facebook which carries its own set of risk. Speaking as someone from inside the county and a regular reader of the Daily Journal, I'd like to see the fireworks put out for bid and maybe a story about how involved and difficult it is to put on a successful "fireworks" show.

Maybe comparing all the local fireworks shows would be interesting to your readership along with a request to support such events whether you can or do attend such events.

On the other hand, putting a $3 "Patriotic Fee" on to the vehicle sticker fee seems like taxation without representation or voter input. By the way, was that $500 she put in hers personally or on behalf of the city? As a Daily Journal reader I'd be curious to know that.
