Urceline “Lynn” Stevens, 85, of Bourbonnais, passed away Friday (June 21, 2019) at her home.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, until the 11 a.m. funeral services at Living Waters Church of Estero, Fla. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fort Myers, Fla.
Funeral arrangements are by Lax Mortuary, Kankakee.
Urceline “Lynn” Stevens was the seventh of ten children, and she was born on July 16, 1933, in Stonehenge, Jamaica, the daughter of Theodore and Christiana Robinson Stevens.
She was a member of Grace Community United Methodist Church in Bourbonnais, where she served in the finance ministry and was an acolyte.
Urceline worked for Fesco Plastic for 15 years, and for Gould Battery for 20 years. After retirement, she volunteered at the Salvation Army for 15 years.
Urceline was an independent, strong-willed person who was non-judgmental. She had a great memory and was a second mom to many. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Wesley (Dawna) Livingstone, of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Lillian Houston, of Winter Haven, Fla., and Ethlyn McCalla, of St. Thomas, Jamaica; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin and Jonathan Livingstone; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Wolsey Robinson and Austin Stevens; and five sisters, Arnette Gray, Frances Gray, Gertrude Clarke, Gwendolyn Stevens and Victoria Rose Cooper.
