The Rev. Quinn Scott Riley, “Q. Scott,” 45, of Park Forest, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at home.

A time of gathering with family and friends will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at Jones Funeral Home, Kankakee. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Second Baptist Church, Kankakee. Pastor Tyler J. Prude will officiate, and interment will be in Mound Grove Garden of Memory, Kankakee.

Quinn was born Sept. 7, 1973, to Joan Riley and Roy Lee Nash in Kankakee. Quinn was educated in Kankakee and graduated from Kankakee High School in 1991. In 1992, Quinn received his calling into the ministry and preached his first sermon May 22, 1994, at Second Baptist Church, which is also where he was ordained as a minister under the leadership of Pastor Tyler J. Prude. Quinn eventually relocated to Chicago, where he joined Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Clay Evans.

He attended Illinois State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and multimedia. Quinn also attended Roosevelt University in Chicago, which is where he met the love of his life, Chrises B. Gogins, in 1997. They were married Aug. 14, 1999, in Kankakee. Quinn was an entrepreneur, preacher and mentor to many.

Quinn leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 22 years, Chrises Riley; his mother, Joan Riley; one son, Giovanni McEastland; one granddaughter, Salome McEastland; three brothers, DeMarcio Holden, Byron Nash and Jameco King; seven sisters, Shyretha Crowell, Kimyhatta Pankey, Rachel Barnes, Erica Parker, Rhonda Warren, Kierra Shepherd, Freida King; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more family and friends, too numerous to name.

He was preceded in death by his father, and maternal and paternal grandparents along with several aunts and uncles.
