Paul Leo Grise, 91, of Manteno, passed away June 29, 2019, at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno.

He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Manteno, the son of John and Celina Morin Grise. Paul married Mary Nantista on Feb. 19, 1955, in Kankakee. They were married for 64 years.

Paul farmed in Manteno his entire life.

He served our country in the U.S. Army.

Paul was affiliated with Maternity BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Manteno Farmers Elevator Board and the Manteno American Legion Post 755. Paul enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family and friends, and watching the Chicago Cubs. He never met a stranger.

Surviving are his wife, of Bourbonnais; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Diane Grise, of Limestone, and Scott and Denise Grise, of Manteno; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Chris Clark, of Bourbonnais, and Pat and Bruce Kersey, of Suwanee, Ga.; grandchildren, Matt Clark, Ashley Clark, Brandon Grise, Crystal Grise, Megan Grise, Mitchell Grise and Grant Kersey; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lea Doris.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, until the 8 p.m. memorial service at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home in Manteno. Deacon Patrick Skelly will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Memorials may be made to Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno or Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
