Jeannette Hendrickson, 92, of Kankakee, passed away June 28, 2019, at Miller Healthcare Center in Kankakee.

She was born July 23, 1926, in Clarksville, Tenn., the daughter of Henry and Elma (Riggins) Hargrove. Jeannette married Vergil Hendrickson on Feb. 11, 1951. He preceded her in death May 14, 2014.

Jeannette was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, playing bridge and painting.

She was a substitute teacher and was involved with County Extension and Home Economists.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Brian (Caroline) Hendrickson, of Conifer, Colo.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Harry) Bond, of Bourbonnais; two grandchildren, Annette (Michael) Hrach, of West Hartford, Conn., and Robert (Charity) Bond, of Bourbonnais; four great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, William (Shari) Hargrove, of San Diego, Calif.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday, July 11, until the 10 a.m. memorial service at Schreffler Funeral Homes, Kankakee Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

Memorials may be made to the Riverside Foundation Hendrickson Scholarship.
