James “Jim” L. Ward, 77, of Paris, Tenn., and formerly of Bradley, passed away May 28, 2019, at his home, after a long illness.
A memorial service will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at the American Legion in Bradley.
Cremation rites were accorded by Heritage Cremation Provider of Vanderbilt University.
Jim was born Oct. 26, 1941, in Bradley, the son of Clarence and Grace Ward. His parents preceded him in death.
On Dec. 5, 1975, he married Judy Ristow Ward, of Paris, Tenn. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Steve Ward, of Bradley; two daughters, Laura and Al Valentine, of Pennsylvania, and Jennifer and Tim Roche, of Tennessee; grandsons, Ashton and Erica Ward, Tyler Marnell and Darian Raven; granddaughters, Heidi and Andrew Peppin, Bailey Ward and Mariah Valentine; two sisters, Norma Meadows and Ella Louise Reed; special friend, James “Jimmy” Coryelle; and several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Ward; and a granddaughter, Melissa McEneany.
Jim was retired from Bradley Roper, Bradley.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
