Harold Dean Graves, 85, of Ash Flat, Ark., passed away Jan. 15, 2019, in Ash Flat, Ark.

He was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Grant Park, the son of John and Ruby Buche Graves. Dean married Sylvia Gall on Oct. 9, 1955, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. She passed away June 12, 2019.

Surviving are daughters, Gale Orosz with her husband Mike Orosz, and Christy Wyatt with her husband David Wyatt; sons, Dean Graves with his wife Rita Graves, Tad Graves with his wife Dolly Graves and John Graves with his wife Dalene Graves; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Jones and her husband Tom.

Preceding him in death were his parents and 12 siblings.

Dean served in the U.S. Army for two years.

He spent most of his career as a heavy equipment operator, until he and Sylvia moved to Arkansas.

Dean and Sylvia joined St. Michael’s Church where he belonged to the Columbarium committee, yard maintenance and the Knights of Columbus.

A memorial Mass took place Jan. 21, 2019, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Highland, Ark.

“God’s Garden. God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be He wrapped His arms around you, and whispered, ‘come to me.’ You didn’t deserve what you went through so He gave you needed rest. God’s garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best,” said Frances and Kathleen Coelho.
