Gayle L. Lamie, 70, of Chebanse, passed away May 24, 2019, at Amita Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, after a sudden illness.
She was born Aug. 8, 1948, in Chebanse Township, the daughter of Donald and Mary Eloise (Ader) Kramer.
Gayle was an office associate for the Illinois State Department of Corrections for many years. During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, golfing, taking daily walks at the Chebanse Civic Center, and making holiday candies.
Surviving are her companion of 29 years, Jerry Rasmussen, of Chebanse; her son, Brett Lamie, of Watseka; her granddaughters, Bella, Elise “Weezer” and Soleil Lamie, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; her stepchildren, Michelle (Bill) Lucas, of Kankakee, Robin (Matt) Mroz, of Bourbonnais; her step-grandchildren, Billy Lucas, Madelyn and Samantha Mroz, her siblings Pattie (Mark) Denault of Kankakee, Ray (Chongnam) Kramer, of Limestone, Mike (Linda) Kramer, of Clifton, Glenn (Nancy) Kramer, of Kankakee, and Paul Kramer, of Chebanse; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and three brothers, Pat, Ronald and Steven.
To honor Gayle’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded by the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
A celebration of life will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Chebanse Community Center.
A trust has been established in Gayle’s name for her grandchildrens’ education, all memorials should be forwarded to her son, Brett.
