Anita M. Miller, 89, of Big Rapids, Mich., and formerly of Kankakee, passed away Sunday (March 3, 2019) at Brooks Assisted Living in Big Rapids, Mich.

She was born Dec. 26, 1929, in St. Anne, the daughter of Harvey and Alma Marcotte Fraser.

Anita married Robert A. Miller on May 27, 1950, in St. Anne. He preceded her in death April 15, 2004.

She retired from the YMCA. Anita was a member of the Illinois Bell Pioneers. She enjoyed camping and gardening.

Anita was a parishioner of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Kankakee and was nominated as CCW Woman of the Year in 2003.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Lee and Cynthia Miller, of Georgetown, Texas, and Brian and Deborah Miller of White Cloud, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Orland Fraser and Eldon Fraser.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at St. John Paul II East Campus (St. Teresa Catholic Church) in Kankakee. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum in Kankakee.
