KANKAKEE — Kankakee police are investigating the shooting of a man in the 600 block of North Rosewood Avenue at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a report, the man was sitting on a porch with three other people when an unknown person started shooting from the east side of the street between houses.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers earlier investigated two reports of shots fired elsewhere in the city.
The first occurred at 10:07 p.m. in the 200 block of North Hobbie Avenue.
A woman told investigators a man was in the back alley of her home in a black sedan and began to shoot at her. The woman was uncooperative and was not sure what occurred.
Multiple spent shell casings were recovered.
A home in the 200 block of North Myrtle Avenue was hit by gunfire.
An officer heard multiple shots fired east of the scene at 10:23 p.m.
Multiple shell casings were found in the street in the 1400 block of East Oak Street.
A woman told investigators she heard her house and vehicle hit multiple times.
