KANKAKEE — Kankakee police investigated a stabbing that sent a woman to a local hospital for treatment for a non-life threatening injury.

Police said they were called at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of North Indiana Avenue in reference to a battery that occurred in a parking lot in the 900 block of East Chestnut Street at 1:30 p.m.

A 30-year-old woman told police that a female acquaintance stabbed her.
