AURORA — The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash that killed a Kankakee man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Monday.

James Malone, 29, of Aurora, is charged with aggravated DUI and reckless homicide in the death of Gus Bester Jr., according to Aurora police.

Malone appeared in Kane County bond court today.

The 32-year-old Bester had to be extricated from the vehicle following the crash on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was traveling east on Sherman Avenue about 3 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree near Sherman and Pearl Street.
