Kankakee police took a report from a man who said he was stabbed in the right arm with a knife by his girlfriend in the 700 block of East Court Street on June 15. The victim said his girlfriend asked him to come outside from a business to talk. They argued, and she then stabbed him and fled in a vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Kankakee police arrested Scotty L. Willis, 44, of Kankakee, for aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery on June 15. Willis is accused of battering a woman and her two children. A judge set Willis’ bond at $50,000.


Kankakee police arrested two juveniles caught burglarizing a vehicle in the 700 block of North Chicago Avenue on June 14. The juveniles also are alleged to have attempted to break into a garage in the 700 block of North Harrison Avenue.


Bourbonnais police arrested Christopher R. Polson, 30, of Kankakee, for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of .08 or more on June 15. According to a report, an officer stopped a vehicle for going at a high rate of speed on Main Street NW. The officer determined the driver, Polson, to be alcohol impaired. Polson was released after posting the required bond at the police station.


A woman told Kankakee police she was robbed by three men at an unknown location on North Harrison Avenue on June 14. The victim told investigators she gave a ride to a man, who robbed her along with the other two men.

Kankakee County Sheriff’s police investigated a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Denny’s (1300 block) of State Highway 50 at 1:30 a.m. June 12. According to a report, the victim said she was smoking outside when a vehicle pulled up playing loud music. She shouted for them to turn down the music. She said two black females got out of the vehicle and started hitting her. A black male got out of the car and took her purse and cellphone. The trio then fled in the vehicle. Officers were able to recover the victim’s purse and phone. Missing from the purse was an undetermined amount of cash.
