Battery

Kankakee police arrested Jeffery A. Hennecke, 60, of Kankakee, for aggravated battery of a peace officer and resisting a peace officer on June 7. According to a report, an officer was called to the 400 block of North Schuyler Avenue to remove a person. The subject, Hennecke, fled into the street. The officer advised Hennecke to get out of the street. Hennecke turned around and punched the officer in the face. A judge set Hennecke’s bond at $25,000.

Drugs

Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested Siemon T. Moore, 41, of Chicago, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated fleeing on June 9. According to a prosecutor, agents had a house in the 400 block of South Cannon Avenue under surveillance. Moore left the house and got into a car. He led officers on a chase, which ended when he crashed the vehicle. A search warrant was executed on the house and agents found 19.8 grams of cocaine that tested positive, $2,450 in cash and a semi-automatic 9mm firearm. A judge set Moore’s bond at $150,000.

Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested Daquan D. Sartin, 23, of Kankakee, for armed violence, felon in possession of a firearm, defacing a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of cannabis on June 7. According to a release, at 11:07 p.m., agents stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of East Locust Street for traffic violations. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 13.3 grams of suspected cannabis and a defaced 9mm handgun. Sartin was the driver. A judge set his bond at $100,000.

DUI

Kankakee police arrested Juanita M. Robinson for driving under the influence of alcohol on June 9. According to a report, an officer was dispatched to the area of North Ninth Avenue and West River Place for a vehicle all over the roadway. Robinson was exiting her car when the officer arrived. After field sobriety tests, she was placed under arrest.

Kankakee police arrested Miguel R. Botello for driving under the influence of alcohol on June 9. According to a report, Botello was involved in an accident at South Indiana Avenue and Hickory Street at 11:18 a.m. An officer smelled alcohol on Botello’s breath. A preliminary breath test came back with a .31 BAC. Botello posted the required bond and was released.

Watseka police arrested Brenda K. Miller, 50, of Watseka, for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC greater than .08 on June 8. According to a release, Miller’s vehicle was involved in an accident in the 300 block of West Hickory Street at 10:32 p.m. when Miller’s vehicle struck another. Miller posted the required bond and was released.

Shots fired

According to a Kankakee police report, at approximately 2:03 a.m. an officer on patrol in the 400 block of South Osborn Avenue heard several shots. The officer stopped a man he saw cutting between houses in the 300 block of South Osborn. The man told the officer he was walking to his aunt’s house when he heard shots and thought he was the target. The officer found eight shell casings in the east alley of the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

Kankakee police investigated a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of South Washington Avenue at approximately 3:28 a.m. on June 9. According to a report, an officer found two spent shell casings and two spent bullets.
