Battery

Kankakee police arrested Lavontae A. Blunt, 24, of Kankakee, for aggravated domestic battery on June 11. According to a prosecutor, He is alleged to have strangled and punched a pregnant woman. A judge set Blunt’s bail at $25,000.

Drugs

Bradley police arrested Kurt A. Skoglund, 33, of Bradley, for retail theft on June 11. Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group filed additional charges for delivery of a controlled substance, which was the result of a three-month investigation by the agency on June 12. A judge set Skoglund’s bond at $25,000.

Shots fired

Kankakee police were dispatched to the area of Wildwood Avenue and Station Street at 11:08 p.m. on June 12. Three 9mm shell casings were found in the road at the intersection.

Kankakee police were dispatched to the 400 block of North Park Avenue for shots fired at about 10:53 p.m. on June 12. Investigators found two scenes in the block.

Theft

Kankakee police took a report of license plates being taken off a vehicle in the 1200 block of East Merchant Street on June 12.

Weapons

Kankakee police arrested Donnie L. Tucker, 18, of Bourbonnais, for possession of a firearm with no FOID and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on June 12. According to a report, officers were in the area of North Washington Avenue and West Chestnut Street for drug activity. Tucker was in a vehicle officers searched after smelling the odor of burnt cannabis coming from it. A gun was allegedly found near where Tucker was sitting in the vehicle. Three baggies of suspected cannabis were found in the vehicle. A judge set Tucker’s bond at $25,000.

Kankakee police arrested for James R. Stewart, 18, of Kankakee, for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on June 11. According to a report, police were called to the area of Washington Park about a subject with a gun. When officers arrived, two male subjects ran away but were apprehended a short time later. A loaded pistol was found in bushes near where Stewart and a male juvenile went past as they ran. The juvenile was turned over the juvenile probation. A judge set Stewart’s bond at $25,000.
