Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Anfernee J. Kelly, 20, of Urbana, for possession of cannabis more than 30 grams but less than 100 grams on Dec. 8. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Iroquois County at 5:37 p.m. observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 57 southbound at mile marker 299. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Kelly. A search of the vehicle revealed 92 grams of cannabis. Kelly was issued a ticket for speeding.

DUI

Bradley police arrested Michael A. Oliver, 31, of Kankakee, for driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 18. According to a report, officers responded to the 1300 block of North State Highway 50 at 12:04 a.m. for a fight in progress. A man and woman involved in the fight left in a vehicle. It was stopped for having no rear registration light illuminating. An officer smelled alcohol on Oliver’s breath. Following field sobriety tests, Oliver was arrested. He was released on a $5,000 recognizance bond.

Bourbonnais police arrested Selena T. Perez, 23, of Kankakee, for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a .08 or greater BAC on Dec. 16. According to a report, an officer observed a vehicle driven by Perez drifting in her lane of traffic. Perez refused field sobriety tests. She agreed to a breath alcohol test with a result of .162. Perez paid the required bond and was released from the station.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Himanshu N. Patel, 40, of Edwardsville, for driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 16. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Iroquois County was dispatched to a reckless driver on Interstate 57 northbound at mile marker 287 in Iroquois County at 12:26 p.m. Patel showed signs of alcohol impairment. Patel was issued tickets for improper parking on the roadway and illegal transportation of alcohol.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Luke L. Akerman, 26, of Momence, for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a .08 or greater BAC on Dec. 15. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving all over the road on Illinois Route 17 at Heiland Road at 12:03 a.m. Akerman was issued tickets for speeding, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and expired driver’s license.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Randy R. Barwegen, 58, of Sheldon, for driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 14. According to a release, a trooper was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 52 at 1700E Road in Iroquois County at 12:16 a.m. Barwegen showed signs of alcohol impairment. Barwegen was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Anthony D. Lawrence, 46, of Kankakee, for driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 14. According to a release, a trooper was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 southbound at mile marker 312 in Kankakee County at 12:36 a.m. Lawrence was issued tickets for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol.
