Kankakee police arrested Ronnell R. Mangram, 28, of Pembroke Township, for aggravated battery to a police officer, delivery of a controlled substance and resisting a police officer on Dec. 25. According to a report, an officer was dispatched to a home in the 500 block of South Indiana Avenue after an abandoned 911 call. The officer heard a loud argument inside. The victim answered the door when the officer knocked. Mangram pushed her out. The victim was able to get back into the home along with the officer. Mangram fought with the officer before he was arrested. A judge set Mangram’s bond at $50,000.


Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested Johnta L. Adams, 30, of Kankakee, for armed habitual criminal, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver on Dec. 24. According to a release, agents executed a search warrant in the 400 block of North Cottage Avenue. They recovered 1.5 pounds (719.7 grams) of cannabis and a loaded .22 caliber pistol. A judge set Adams’ bond at $75,000. Another person in the house at the time, Matthew Bender, 34, of Pembroke Township, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
