New Vision to open food pantry Friday

The New Vision Missionary Baptist Church Church, 194 N. Entrance Ave. in Kankakee will open its food pantry from 1-3 p.m. Friday.

New Vision well be celebrating its 14th church anniversary at 7 p.m. Friday with guest speaker, Dr. Donald Parsons, of Logos Baptist Assembly in Chicago. Caleb’s Prayer Foundation benefit

The Caleb’s Prayer Foundation will host its third annual benefit art-craft event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse.

Annette Hoggins, of Chebanse, and Carol Barons, of Bradley, who along with Duane Wolfe, of Clifton, will be participating Dec. 1 in St. Jude’s Marathon Weekend event in Memphis, Tenn. The siblings pledged to raise more than $9,000 for St Jude in memory of Annette’s son, Caleb Hoggins.

Christmas Past Sale at St. John Paul II

A Christmas Past Sale, sponsored by St. John Paul II Parish’s CCW, will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 17 and 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 18 at the church’s Settles Center, 960 S. 10th Ave. in Kankakee.

Items available include artificial trees, ornaments, garland, lights, wreaths, decorations, serving pieces, mangers and more.

Celebration time for Kingdom Life

Pastor Grace Gordon Smith and the Kingdom Life Church family will be celebrating their third anniversary. Services begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 with the Morning Praise and will conclude with an afternoon service at 3:30 p.m.

The speaker will be Bishop Brandon A. Jacobs Sr., of New Zion Temple, of Hammond, Ind., and the Indianapolis campus.

Caldwell Chapel to offer free dinner

The Caldwell Chapel AME Zion Church’s annual free pre-Thanksgiving dinner will be Saturday.

Deliveries to seniors and shut-ins will be from 10-11:30 a.m. only, and one must call 779-801-4541 by 8 p.m. Friday to register. Leave name, address, phone number and number of dinners needed. Carry-outs are from noon-2 p.m. or until gone.

First Baptist to host annual craft fair

First Baptist Church of Kankakee, 1176 W Illinois Route 113, Kankakee, will be hosting its third annual Christmas Extravaganza Craft Fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Items available include wood works, handmade gifts, decor, bath soaps-salts, crochet, jewelry and more.

New Vision revival
