• Free Christmas dinner by Christmas Day Inc., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 25. Locations in Bourbonnais, Bradley, Grant Park, Kankakee, Manteno, Momence, St. Anne and Sun RiverTerrance. Christmas Day Inc. serves a complete dinner with all the trimmings to more than 1,200 people in Kankakee County each year.

• "Joyful Sounds of the Season," by the Iroquois County Christmas Cantata and Joyful Noyz youth choir, at 4 p.m. Sunday, 6 and 8 p.m. Dec. 21 and 7 p.m. Dec. 22 at the First Christian Church in Watseka. Free tickets can be reserved by calling 815-242-7870. A free-will donation will be taken at the door to support the Iroquois County Volunteer Ramp Builders.

• Hot Chocolate Day, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the French Heritage Museum in the Old Stone Barn, 165 N. Indiana Ave., Kankakee. The museum will be decorated for Christmas in the French style.

Garden club

Harbor House fundraiser

Harbor House will host Chicago's legendary sketch and improv comedy theater "The Second City" at a fundraiser to benefit Harbor House at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at The Majestic, 150 N. Schuyler Ave., Kankakee. Attendees must be at least 17 years old. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased at or at any of the three Municipal Banks in Kankakee County.
