For Chicago Bears fans everywhere, last season ended abruptly when Cody Parkey missed a potential game-winning field goal on the next to last play of an NFC playoff game against Philadelphia. For numerous local fans, including Ryan Hess, of Bradley, the 2019 season began Friday night when they attended the Friday Night Lights Fest at the BrickStone Brewing Facility and attempted to kick a field goal in Meijer’s field goal contest. The Bears will return to Bourbonnais and Olivet Nazarene University this week to conduct training camp. The team will report Thursday and hold its first public practice on Saturday. Camp is open from 7:30 a.m. to noon that day, with practice beginning at 8:15. The same schedule will hold for Sunday and Monday, July 29. Admission to camp is free, but fans must obtain tickets in advance at chicagobears.com/camp. Look to the Daily Journal for comprehensive camp coverage throughout the coming days.
