FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC AND/OR FIREFIGHTER/EMT-B’S The Bradley Fire Department is currently seeking qualified individuals for the positions of part-time Firefighter/Paramedic and/or Firefighter/EMT-Bs. Part-time personnel will be utilized to support the departments current full-time personnel. The Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedic and/or an EMT-B’s main responsibility is the protection of life and property through learned procedures and responses. Work involves performing firefighting duties, as instructed, and to respond to medical emergencies and provide pre-hospital advanced life-support care to victims of injury or illness and make medical decisions based on standing orders, protocols, and direction from medical control. Along with responding to emergency calls, the Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedic and/or EMT-B is responsible for basic vehicle, equipment, and station maintenance. He/she must also take part in assigned fire department training as well as conducting fire inspections, pre-fire planning, and public education as required. Benefits: Starting pay for Firefighter/EMT-P is $17 per hour. After a successful 3-month probationary period, the salary increases to $18 per hr • Starting pay for Firefighter/EMT-B is $15 per hour. After a successful 3-month probationary period, the salary increases to $16 per hr • Candidates will work either 12 or 24 hour shifts based on a shift bidding system. Qualifications: Have and maintain a valid Illinois motor vehicle operators license.• Be over 21 years of age • Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent • Take and pass a pre-employment physical examination and background check • Be an IDPH licensed EMT-P and/or EMT-B with the ability to test into the Amita Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system if not already in the system. O&M SPECIALIST This position will be responsible for the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment facility and its processes, both mechanical and biological. Duties included but not limited to : Make regular rounds of facility to ensure proper operation of mechanical equipment • Operate valves, pumps, and other major facility elements • Check pressure and temperature gauges; oil levels and records observations • Perform limited process control testing • Collect samples for analysis for the laboratory • Maintain and repair a variety of equipment and control devices • Inspect engines, motors, pumps, blowers and all other related wastewater equipment • Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned • Have the ability to troubleshoot and correct minor mechanical breakdowns • This position works various shifts and requires some overtime. Minimum Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent • Experience in the Water or Wastewater field with Certification preferable • The ability to achieve minimum level Class 4 Illinois Wastewater Certification within 18 months of hire as a condition of permanent employment • Industrial Mechanical and electrical experience preferable • Must be able to pass preemployment drug screening • Valid Illinois Drivers License • Cover letter references that can detail your experience.
