The “Careers in Art” educational event was inspired by the Gretchen Charlton Art Gallery's exhibiting artist, Gretchen Jankowski’s own path to art. She initially intended to be a social worker, then writer, but followed her true passion to be an artist.

Jeff Stevenson the GSU gallery and sculpture park director, and Gretchen Jankowski a printmaking professor are joining us to discuss their careers in art. They will help aspiring art students know the scope of career possibilities and the education/experience necessary to attain those goals. Too often when students are approaching college and declare a major, they are met with the discouraging question "what are you going to do with that?!" (especially in art.) Join us for information that helps students envision their path and be more confident in their pursuits.  We’ll also be discussing how art courses benefit students in other fields.  Aspiring creatives of all ages are welcome including parents who may be supporting a student through art school.
