How to Play
Promotion Dates: Saturday July 25, 2020 – Saturday August 29, 2020
Find and collect Bingo cards in the Saturday, July 25th 2020 and Monday, July 27th 2020 Daily Journal Newspaper, or for free at any of the participating Berkot’s locations in Kankakee, Aroma Park, Momence, Manteno. Two call numbers will be printed in the Daily Journal newspaper each day, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday beginning Tuesday July 28, 2020. Cut the numbers out of the newspaper, or from your printed eEdition, and paste them onto the Bingo playing card in the matching square. Once you have a BINGO, submit your card for entry one of two ways: (1) email a photo of your card to firstname.lastname@example.org (2) drop off your card in the drop box outside the Daily Journal office at 8 Dearborn Square, Kankakee. Your name and contact information must be included on your card entry to qualify. A BINGO is defined as covered squares, 5 down, 5 across, diagonal, four corners or all 24 numbers on the BINGO card. One winner for each of the fourteen (14) BINGO combinations will be selected.

TO ENTER AND PLAY: To enter: (1) Find and collect Bingo cards in the Saturday, July 25, 2020 and Monday, July 27th 2020 Daily Journal Newspaper, or at one of our sponsors’ locations. Additional play cards are available at our Sponsors’ locations. Called numbers will be available in the Daily Journal newspaper and in the Daily Journal digital eEdition. Cut the call numbers out and paste to the matching square on your card. Bingo Cards and call numbers will also be available at daily-journal.com/bingo. No Contest sponsor is or will be responsible or liable for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries or for the failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or sponsor. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY MIDNIGHT each day you are able to make a new winning BINGO on your card. Once you have a BINGO on your card, fill in your name and contact information and submit your Entry one of two ways: (1) Email a photo of your card to email@example.com. (2) Drop your card in the drop box outside the Daily Journal office at 8 Dearborn Square, Kankakee, IL. When you submit your entry by email, you can continue to play on the same card until you reach another BINGO, and submit again. Winners will be drawn from the cards that are submitted. The winner will be drawn the following business day. No late entries will be accepted.
ELIGIBILITY: Contest open only to legal residents of Illinois who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. The contest is not open to employees, officers, and directors of any Sponsor, their employees of the respective affiliates, subsidiaries, tenants, and advertising or promotional agencies of any Sponsor, or the immediate family or household members of such employees, officers, and directors. Only one prize will be awarded per person and per household for the contest. PRIZE: Thirteen (13) winners will each receive $50 (US): a winner will be selected for each winning BINGO combination. One (1) grand prize winner will win $500 for a coverall card, meaning all 24 squares are covered. Winners must have a valid driver’s license or other suitable identification to claim the prize. Winners will be contacted by phone or email for notification on how to claim the prize at the Daily Journal, Monday through Thursday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The winner will be chosen each business day following when a new winning Bingo combination is made available. The winner will have two weeks from the date notified by the Daily Journal to pick up prize or prize will be forfeited. All winners will be notified no later than Monday August, 31, 2020. ODDS: Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: The Daily Journal is not responsible for email notifications that get lost in spam filtering.
PARTICIPATION: Participation in the Contest constitutes an agreement by each contestant to comply with these Official Contest Rules. In the event the Contest is compromised by a computer virus, non-authorized human intervention, tampering, fraud, or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Daily Journal which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Contest, the Daily Journal reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest. Should the Contest be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, the Daily Journal reserves the right to, but is not obligated to, award the prize based on the entries received before the termination date. Further, any Contest entry form that is defaced, mutilated, forged, illegible, altered, tampered with, mechanically reproduced, or which contains printing or other errors that is not legitimately obtained will be void.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By entering the Contest, contestant agrees that (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest, or the prize, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (2) any claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest, but in no event attorney’s fees; and (3) under no circumstances will any contestant be permitted to obtain any award for, and contestant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
CONSTRUCTION: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Contest Rules, or the rights and obligations of any contestant or Contest sponsor shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Illinois, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of Illinois, or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Illinois. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Contest Rules shall not affect the invalidity or unenforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.
GENERAL RELEASE: By entering the Contest, contestants release the Daily Journal and each of their respective affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives, partners and agents from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest, status as winner, or with the acceptance, possession or use of the prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light).
MISCELLANEOUS. The decision of the Daily Journal regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the Contest shall be final and binding in all respects. No sponsor is responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Contest Rules or in other materials relating to the Contest. No mail or telephone inquiries regarding this Contest will be accepted.
