I often ask viewers of American Idol how they vote following Tuesday’s show.

Do they vote for their favorite? Do they vote on what they feel is the best performance of the week? Do they vote against performers?

Most seem to vote for their favorites and not really on the performances at all.

For example, the week David Archuleta stumbled with the lyrics to “We Can Work It Out,” shouldn’t he have, at the very least, been in the bottom three? Shouldn’t he have been punished a little? Even the judges weren’t harsh on the lad.

That being said, I have no idea who should go home. Kristy Lee is the least talented but she’s had a couple of good weeks in a row. It would be sad to see her go after a good showing, when she survived all of those poorer showings.

Bottom three: Kristy Lee, Jason and Syesha — just because they have all spent time there.

Who should go: Kristy Lee is the least talented so logically, she should go.

Who will go: Unlike last year’s Idol Gives Back, someone will be sent home. The pattern is boy, girl, boy, girl and the boy’s turn is now up. Jason will be sent home, although I did enjoy his Hawaiian version of “Over the Rainbow.”

From her first audition I liked Kristy, and even though she had a lot of bad weeks I really like that she is now living up to her potential she showed in her first audition. I think bottom 3 will be Carly, Syesha, and Brooke. I think Jason’s “Over the Rainbow” may have saved him this week - because it was a familiar song and made him a bit more memorable. I like her, but I think Syesha will be sent packing.
Tim Ahrens says — You may be right on the Syesha call. She has spent time in the bottom three. Am I the only one who really likes Carly? Her voice is great and that accent!

Carly is phenomenal. I think a Carly/Dave Cook finale would be AWESOME.

I agree….Carly and David Cook. I really really want Carly to shine on something tho and so far she really hasn’t . I like Brooke but am sick of her sicky sweetness now. I liked jason’s rendition of “Over The Rainbow” but I detest those ratty moth-eaten looking braids so he could leave and I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. We’ll see tonight and you will hear me wail if Carly gets kicked off!!!

I think Carly’s voice is phenomenal. Her version of Come Together during Beatles week was awesome!
I have grown to appreciate Brooke’s voice more, but she will never be my favorite with Carly and the two David’s still in the running.
Jason changes every week as far as I am concerned, except for that nasty head of dreds.

Well, Tim was right, it was the guys turn……I was shocked that Michael was sent home.
Tim Ahrens says — Well, I can’t really say I was right since I picked Jason, but the boy-girl pattern stays. I was shocked too, but not as much as Michael was. I thought his jaw was going to hit the ground. Odds-on favorite to leave next week — Syesha.

I agree with you Kimmi…I was shocked…but better him than my Carly and I was sure it would be Carly and she was pretty certain too. Michael’s shocked look was equal to Carly’s. I believe Syesha will be next one off.
Sorry to Michael go but he was a little arrogant as far as I felt. I STILL want Carly to sing “Danny Boy”…..

Yeah Kimi, but where do I call? Can you just hear it now? Oh my God, she’d have the entire viewing audience eating out of her hand if she did a soulful rendition of “Danny Boy”! I was trying to find a link on the website to e-mail in and tell SOMEONE…ANYONE that I want to hear her sing “Danny Boy”!! So how do I get this message to her???Any ideas?

Try that Kathie…… on Tues/Wed they usually have the toll free number posted. It has in the past been on the screen of the results shows.
I am done feeling sorry for Michael now though,my car just died and is in the garage for the weekend, so I am feeling sorry for me now (just kidding)

I was soo sad to see Michael go, I think he had a ton of promise and he was just getting there the past two weeks…yeah unless Syesha actually turns into Whitney Houston, than she’s out next week…glad to see that Carly still has a real good following…and Kathie you should totally call and talk to Ryan!!
