I feel refreshed after reading a news story Tuesday about people’s sleeping habits.
Reuters Health reported that nearly 70 percent of adults have at least one day of insufficient rest or sleep per month in a survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
More than 400,000 people in all 50 states completed the survey. It reinforces a CDC survey a year ago on the subject, but only sampling people in four states.
The National Sleep Foundation suggests that adults need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night to be raring to go the next day.
I blame Smokey our cat for my restless nights. Actually, it is a combination of him and spending too much time online.
Down time is good for the eyes and mind to relax.
But I need my fix of Facebook, Twitter, online chatting, blogging, watching YouTube videos and much more.
I think the results would be reversed if we surveyed cats. But we will never know since they like to sleep anywhere between 19 to 24 hours a day.
