This turned into the grueling day we thought it would be as the vacation reached day three.

Yard work.

More specific: Trimming limbs from the trees in our yard.

The ash tree in our backyard lost the majority of its leafs Tuesday night. It made it easier to get to the limbs. Nice day to work in the yard, too.

I had to borrow the neighbor’s extension ladder to get on our roof to get at several limbs on the ash and one of our two flowering crab apple trees.

Smokey got a little spooked hearing me on the roof but loved the cascading leafs as I used our electric blower to clear the roof.

After that it was on to mulching the leafs with the lawn mower and trimming the limbs for our public works department to pick up next month.

No one was hurt in the making of this day.  No one said anything dumb. Oops. I did, but that is me.

Smokey refused to get on the roof. He did guard the house for us.

Dawn made her debut using the new lawn mower. I think I have found my replacement for next season. Although she said she is not interested.
