We had to take our laptop in for service. It is gone for 10 days to a month.
What’s the big deal?
Dawn and I experienced laptop jitters for the first time. Cold sweats from not being connected with the universe. Oh, my!
As I was driving home after dropping off the laptop, I had visions of instant messaging chats running through my head. What will I do without Facebook friends? What about watching silly videos on You Tube? And, of course, how would I survive not posting to my blog?
After getting home, I grumbled about us being without a computer for at least 10 days.
An hour passed, I was already going through withdrawals.
The last time I saw this was in 1981. That is when my mother gave up smoking. She did it cold turkey. Irritable is the best way I can describe mom’s first month of not smoking.
Dawn came into the living room where I was in cold sweats, “I was thinking we could use a second computer.”
Nonchalantly I answered, “You think so?”
Inside I was jumping for joy.
“How long have you been thinking about this?” I said.
“For at least a month,” Dawn said.
I really think it is because I hog our laptop. I do work with our Web site at work, so I find myself working from home. Plus. I also write a column and blog.
We went to the store and came up with a great second laptop.
After some bumps in the road in setting it up, we are back in the saddle again.
The world is a safer place, at least in the Bonty household.
