The rumors of legendary rock band Aerosmith breaking up are just that.
Lead singer Steven Tyler joined the group’s lead guitarist, Joe Perry, at a New York site to announce he would not leave the group.
Earlier, Perry said on the social networking Internet site Twitter the group was not splitting up but they may be looking for a new lead singer.
Tyler has been quoted recently that he is considering a solo career.
The band had to cancel the rest of its summer tour after Tyler, 61, was injured in a fall off a stage during a concert in South Dakota on Aug. 5.
Tyler has said he was taking some time off after the accident. Perry said in an interview with WKXL radio in Concord, New Hampshire, neither he or the other band member has talked with Tyler.
The group has been amazing during its run. So many legendary songs that really are part of the music timeline of my life.
It is his decision, but Tyler should have thought of this earlier in his career.
Band members come and go, but the groups are never the same. They crank out the songs, but there is a difference in the chemistry of the group. The sound is different, too.
Tyler is the face of Aerosmith.
There is nothing wrong with doing a solo project, but keep your energetic persona with your mates, too.
So Aerosmith will continue to walk this way.
