OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Three families have agreed to settle their lawsuits over a 2002 medical helicopter crash in Norfolk, Nebraska that killed three people aboard.
The families' attorney Gary Robb of Kansas City, Missouri, confirmed Tuesday that an agreement had been reached. But Robb says the details of the settlement are still being negotiated so he can't discuss them. The LifeNet of the Heartland helicopter had just left a Norfolk hospital on June 21, 2002, when the pilot reported trouble. It crashed at the airport. Killed in the crash were: 41-year-old Lori Schrempp, an emergency room nurse from Yankton, South Dakota; 43-year-old pilot Phil Herring of Lincoln, Nebraska; and 40-year-old paramedic Patrick Scollard of Sioux City, Iowa.
