NEW YORK (AP) -- Al Gore and Michael Bloomberg engaged in a playful bit of name-calling Wednesday, each accusing the other of being -- shocking! -- a presidential candidate.
Neither man is in the 2008 race, but Democrat Gore and Democrat-turned-Republican Bloomberg are often mentioned as possible White House contenders. The two were together to help kick off the Tribeca Film Festival, opening this year with several environmentally themed films. Global warming has long been Gore's pet cause -- the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" about his power-point presentation captured an Oscar -- and it is fast becoming one of Bloomberg's priorities. "His recent success has even prompted some talk that he might again try for the White House," Bloomberg said when introducing the former vice president. "Don't you just hate those rumors about running for president?"
